Mister David J, of Bauhaus and Love and Rockets fame, delivered his fourth solo album Urban Urbane in 1992 recorded in the fittingly urban locales of Los Angeles and New York City brings a sedated, jazzy spin to the ethereal sounds spilled over from the Love and Rockets.

The album as you might expect from the dub inspired bassist is sparse with occasional bluesy washes that for the most part are a reflection of the dreamy landscape amidst the bright lights and sonic blur of Metropolis.

Some of the standouts from the moderate album is "Candy on the Cross", a somewhat cryptic tale of a young woman befallen to drugs and life as a sex worker, and the track that immediately follows "Space Cowboys" which evokes something akin to a drugged out spaghetti-western cowboy in space. An image that everyone should invariably try to picture.
